  1. Can you put a svcd or vcd on cd-rw and will it play in Dvd player?

  2. yes. I always test my vcds on CDRW for the vid/audio quality before burning onto cdrs. But i've also noticed that if i've used the cd many times, the vid and aud will skip and some frames will be unreadable in the player.

Make sure your DVD player supports CD-RW, some don't. If it does it will work fine.

After you rewrite a CD-RW enough times it starts to develop bad spots. I've noticed that the ones I've been using for a while have problems if I burn them at the maximum rated speed (4x) but they still work fine if I burn them at 2x instead.

  4. Most CD-RW's dont give you the same amount of space as CD-R's do so if you plan on using the whole cd your video bitrate will be lower on the cd-rw. But if its a smaller file or your not using the whole disc or its for testing than go ahead.

I have never encountered this. My CD-RW's even have about the same overburn capacity as most of my CD-Rs do.
