i recently downloaded a music video from the internet, put it onto a cdr using nero 5.5, VCD. but it only plays for about a minute when i put it into my standalone player then freezes (the original file was an avi 352x288)...why???? i am using a philips dvd 633 player which SHOULD play all media types!!! can anyone help me?

The first thing you should know is....do NOT use Nero to encode (its ok for authoring though).
I would suggest using TMPGE to encode.
I would also download this version of Virtualdub and scan the video for bad frames.(scroll down to the "MP3_Freeze" version)

If you have bad frames (and the amount is not more than a couple of hundred)you can remove the frames with Virtualdub,then re-stream the AVI ready to be encoded."Today is only yesterdays tomorrow"
