screenver dvd problems

hi,

i have been downloading screener movies from kazza for the past two dayd and when i bring them into virtual dub and try to save them as a wav it tells me the compression is not the same as the video source. the video when i open the info says its in mpeg layer 4. is that not allowed to be used in virtual dub. is there any program i can use to get the audio from the movies because tmpeg does not read the audio either. please help i am desperate
