  1. OK I got Vampire Hunter D that is exactly 75 Minutes long. Before, the movies that I got were usually an hour 30 Minutes 2 hours blah blah blah. But this movie can just fit on one cd but the main question is whether or not I should just put the movie on 1 CD instead of 2. Im making it into an Mpeg 2 Non Standard SVCD converting at 1200 CB/s. Im not sure if the quality will be good or not but should I do it or just break it down into 2.??

    Opinion needed.

  3. what resolution and format is your movie? if it's 352 x 240 then you might as well keep it on one disc. if it's larger then possibly make an svcd..

  5. that looks like it would fit nicely on 2 SVCD's.

if you make 1 SVCD with 1200 bitrate you're halving the amount of bytes you give to each frame, so there will be a huge loss in quality. i'd say 2 SVCDs at standard (or even increased) bitrate.

  6. Yeaa I figured that...considering that the movie is 75 minutes long I will increase the Bitrate to make it even better. Thanks for the help !!

  7. but make sure you put your audio bitrate at 128 or youll just be wasting space, because the audio wont get any better. Your source is 128, so make sure your svcd is also 128.

The audio in the movie is MP3, SVCD audio is MP2. MP3 encoding will generally have higher quality than MP2 at the same bitrate, so 128k audio will probably reduce quality. And putting 75 minutes on 2 CDs means there is definitely no shortage of space, so there really isn't a reason to use a low audio bitrate.

I've heard that 128k MP3 is comparable in quality to MP2 at 160k or 192k, but I haven't actually done a comparison myself. Since the savings in space is so small I usually just leave my audio at 224k.

  9. It really won't matter 40 Minutes of Video/Audio for an entire 80 Minute CD which Im converting to around 800 Just a little + MB to overburn slightly I think I'll be fine.

Heehee..! Thanks for the help though !
