Thank you very much for any help. I acknowledge in advance that this is a stupid question.
I have followed a tutorial on backing up a >4.7 GB DVD to one DVD disk. The steps included the use of DVD Decrypter, IFOEdit, and then "Burn". Everything went very well and the resultant files on my hard disk then played on my software player. I burned a DVD using Roxio ECDC and the resultant disk played on my DVD drive using my software player, with all the "extras" stripped out as per IFOEdit. But when I tried to play the disk in my home DVD player, the "DVD" light flashed briefly, but then nothing happened. It isn't a media issue because I have used Pinnacle Studio 8 to make DVD's of home movies that have played perfectly well in the home player.
Here's my question: When you get to the last step in the tutorials and the instruction is "Burn the disk", is it as simple as using Roxio ECDC to burn a VIDEO_TS folder to the DVD? Do programs like Gear Pro, Nero, VOB, etc do something to the VIDEO_TS folder and the files that ECDC doesn't do?
Thanks again.
