  1. I've donwloaded a lot of divx bundles so far but am having trouble getting audio for a certain video file I have. The properties list the video coded as Divx Decoder Filter 0009 but the audio is, of course, unknown. The extension of the file is .avi and as far as the video......

    640 x 352, 24 Bits, 93644 Frames, 23.976 Frames/Sec, 178 KB/Sec, DIVXMPG4 V3

All I know is that the creator used Nandub v1.0rc2 as some kind of decoder. I tried downloading the 3.11 Alpha version of the Divx bundle from Divx-Digest.com and even its audio codec couldn't help. The alternate audio codec, angel potion, is down because of problems it caused, and the 3ivx is up but I don't want to install anything more until I start getting a clue as to where I'm going wrong. From what I've seen in a Divx-Digest forum, I might need a Divx MPEG-4 audio codec of some sort. Help please. Thanks

  2. Byranx,

This might be wrong, but try it anyway if nobody corrects me.

Use VirtualDub. Open your movie file and go to the "Audio" menu. Select "Full Processing Mode". Then, go to "File" and tell it to save the WAV.

Feed it into whatever encoder you use. It won't matter that it doesn't pick up the sound from your original movie file because you now have a WAV with the sound instead. Easy peasy.

    Good luck!

  4. Thank you both...I think it was the .ac3 problem because once I downloaded Nimo's pack, with the Ac3 codec, the sound works fine. Of course, much to my dismay, it's in japanese with no subtitles....
