I just discovered XSVCD and I am enamored. I find that I am a quality junkie and the prospect of higher bitrates is wonderful. Eventually I will have to have a DVD burner, but XSVCD looks like it will work for me for now.
I checked on my standalone DVD player and, brilliantly, Dan W. actually put down an acheivable bitrate as well as rating the player as able to read XSVCD (5000 bps, my player is an Apex 5131). THANKS DAN!
I am not worried about space, of course. I am doing home-movies and 20 minute CDs will work fine. CD-Rs are also pretty darn cheap.
So here's my belated question: If I want to maximize the 5000 bps potential of my player, what settings should I use when I burn my mpeg files (I use bbmpeg) to get the best video and audio possible?
