  1. I tried to create a DVD with the trial version of Ulead DVD Workshop twice and it aborted. I assumed it was because what I exported the .avi files from Premiere it stopped at 4GB because I have Win98SE and FAT32 which limits the size of the files.

Next I read how to convert the two files with TMPGEnc, printed out all the guides and followed all the links to avoid having to ask questions but now I am stuck.

I tried to import the .m2v file into Ulead MovieFactory and it doesn't recognize it even if I rename it to .mpg. Ulead DVD Workshop recognizes the renamed .mpg files but they have no audio, I assume because the audio is in the .wav file that TMPGEnc created. When I load the .mpg files in Workshop it tells me that .mpg audio files are not valid even though there is no audio in the video file. In Workshop I can author the movie and add titles but then when I tell it to create the video directory with the menus AND without converting complient video it gives me an error and aborts.

At this point I am willing to try anything. Including any programs just to get a working DVD to burn on my new DVD burner to play on my TV.

Why does TMPGEnc generate and audio (.wav) and a video file (.m2v) and what am I supposed to do with them?
Since my movie is now in two pieces because of the 4GB limit and I have two video and two audio files and they are not authored yet, where do I go from here?

    Thank you

I don't believe that Tmpeg would make a .wav file, are you sure it's not an mp2? What size is the file. A wave file for a two hour movie would about 1.5Ghz!,an mp2 would be around 300-400Mb's!
if it' the smaller size rename it .mpa and if your .m2v is a DVD compliant stream your authorware should import it. Try SpruceUp,it's free to try and is available from this website.

If I use IfoEdit to combine the audio and video into a .vob file, can I import that into an authoring program and add the necessary chapters etc?

The audio files are actually .wav files and one is 216 Mbytes and the other is 268 Mbytes. I can load them into my standard .wav file player and they work fine.

    QUESTION:
If I try SpruceUP, will it allow me to import a separate video and audio file, sync them and author it by adding the necessary chapters etc? Does SpruceUp make the Video and Audio files so that I can copy to a DVD using Nero or will it Burn the DVD for me?

  5. I figured it out.

If you select CBR MPEG-1 Layer II Audio (MP2) on the first page of the Wizard in TMPEG then it will generate one .mpg file with audio and video combined.
