Just purchased DVD Split and DVD Burn. Ripped using DVD Decrypter. Selected all files like the guide says. Used all defaults. Didn't add any extras to either DVD. Disk 1 and Disk 2 folders are the same exact size and contain the same files. Oh yeah, Both folders are 6.11 Gig. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

  2. I had a similar problem. This might help...

On the 3rd dialog box of DVDSplit (where you select a split point), there should be a check box at the bottom that says "Don't include other titles".

Try checking that box. Notice if it changes anything in the "Expected Disc Sizes" box. When I did that, it worked perfectly, and the copy had everything that the original had on it.

  3. That is exactly what you have to do otherwise it just copies everything again. Worked for me and must say it's a very nice program along with DVDburn.

First DVDDecrypt, then DVDsplit and last DVDburn

    Thanks Clipper453 and Pingus.
What a difference one check box makes. I don't use the DVDBurn Util because I have a Philips 711 settop and you have to have at least 4 Gig on the DVD-R or it will not play. Instead I use Nero 5.5.9.0 and burn under the udf/iso. I change one of the vobs from the original rip to a vts_01_1.TXT file and add it to the root of the dvd. That's how I overcome the 4Gig minimum.

    Mike44,
I thought I wasted my money too but it is probably something simple. If you give more details I will help in any way I can. I think DVDSplit is awesome. 8)

I have backed up alot of dvd to vcd and svcd but the world of DVD is a little different. Not any harder but different.

    Thanks guys.

  6. I just got DVD Split .6 and then burned with DVD Burn and have an unusable second disc (in standalone only, the disc plays fine in PowerDVD). The first disc plays fine in my player. I don't know the first thing about VTS and VOB and such, thus the point of getting DVD Split in the first place

    But, here are my discs:

    Disc 1

    VIDEO_TS.BUP
    VIDEO_TS.IFO
    VIDEO_TS.VOB
    VTS_01_0.BUP
    VTS_01_0.IFO
    VTS_01_0.VOB
    VTS_01_1.VOB
    VTS_01_2.VOB
    VTS_01_3.VOB
    VTS_01_4.VOB

    Disc 2

    VIDEO_TS.BUP
    VIDEO_TS.IFO
    VIDEO_TS.VOB
    VTS_01_0.BUP
    VTS_01_0.IFO
    VTS_01_0.VOB
    VTS_01_1.VOB
    VTS_01_2.VOB
    VTS_02_0.BUP
    VTS_02_0.IFO
    VTS_02_0.VOB
    VTS_02_1.VOB
    VTS_02_2.VOB
    VTS_03_0.BUP
    VTS_03_0.IFO
    VTS_03_0.VOB
    VTS_03_1.VOB
    VTS_04_0.BUP
    VTS_04_0.IFO
    VTS_04_0.VOB
    VTS_04_1.VOB

If anyone could shed some light on how to get this to play in my DVD player? I also made a disc image (burned it with RecordNow Max), but that ended with the same unusable disc. I've done dozens of discs before this using the same media and player and have never had the player reject it as 'unreadable'.
