how compress the sound with video

hi everybody
can someone explain to me how to convert the sound with divx codec.
if i compress an avi with divx codec the sound stay always as pcm(uncompressed).
this sound stream is bigger than the video stream.it's crazy.
i did see that movies ussually compress the sound with the frauenhofer codec;i don't have this.am i able to download this codec?where?

and how can i convert the sound with the videostream together as one file?there is no ption in the main divx5.02 settings.

What program are you using? I always thought Virtual Dub will let you select both the audio and the video codec before saving a file.

You can also try gordianKnot to make your divx file.

no it doesn't the audiocompressor ist not availible.only the videocompresser is availible.why?
im using virtual dub,pinnacle studio and magig videodeluxe.

now i know how.
select virtual dub "audio" from "direct stream copy" to "full processing mode" .after this i'm able to select audio-compressor.

what about the gknot programm.is it better than virtual dub and tmpeg?
