I mean correcting the hor,vertical scale so it's not squashed.This would be with a divx avi.Can Virtual Dub do it?I capture with this res because it seems to look the best,and you know you can't go any higher than the 240 with
the MM7.1 now.

ok,I read some help files called Nicki's pages at Digital
Digest and I would use the resize filter to make it 320x240
but if that's the case shouldn't I just be capturing it at
the same or is it still going to look better? -
The vertical resolution (240) is going to have a far more significant impact on the quality of your video than the horizontal resolution.
That said, you may still derive some benefit from capturing at a higher resolution, as VirtualDub then has extra bits to work with when resizing. It's not too likely that the end result is really going to look any better, but it's your call.
