-Searched around a bit, could not find an answer
-Burning DivX to VCD using 1)TMPGEnc for conversion and 2)VirtualDub for the audio wav and 3) NERO for the burn
-I am also using the walk though's to burn VCD's from this site
-After creating the WAV file with VirtualDub, I find the fps and decide to use NTSC, NTSCfilm, or PAL to convert in TMPGEnc
-I convert the file and then use Nero to burn
-When buring, I select VCD and select either NTSC or PAL depending on what I selected during conversion.
-Now I get VCD's that have sporadic out of sync audio and sometimes it seems like the video play's catchup by going a bit faster and slower at times
-Also, I converted a file using NTSCfilm (due to it's fps) and made the VCD. There was alot of artifacting and way out of sync audio. I re-burned it in NERO with the PAL selection and it seems MUCH better but still out of sync audio and catchup problems.
-Sorry for the novel, but can anyone tell me what might be the cause? I am new so it could be I am missing something very very simple!![]()

Hello all, I too have been searching for an answer to the same question. In fact I am using the exact same methods and programs. The only thing I'd like to add is that I only have the out of sync probs when playing in my stand alone dvd player (GE #1101PA). When I play them using The Playa or Windows Media Player they seem to work fine. I have just given a freind a copy of a VCD I made that had this problem to see if it would happen in his player. I have not talked to him about it yet. I will follow this post and add any info I get from other sources. thanks, joe

I have a Norcent DP 300 Stand-alone, and I have started burning at 24x's on a 40x's LG burner...
On a side note, i converted a DivX movie to PAL format (proper format for fps) and Burned to PAL format ... and it seems to be working fine in the stand alone.
If this is so, how do I convert DivX video that is supposed to be in NTSC or NTSCfilm fomat to PAL ... since PAL seems to be working ok? -
http://www.vcdhelp.com/pal2ntsc/pal2ntsc.htm
check this out for information on conversion pal --> ntsc
though when changing frames around like this it can cause jerky video playback. anyway best of luck
