I want to take VCD/MPEG, ect. (the most common digital video formats) and record them(output)to a vcr onto a VHS tape.
From my limited knowlage of Digital Video and its hardware, Im thinking that all i would need to do is get a video card with tv out and hook it to my vcr?
I was thinking of getting either gforce ti4 with s video out and hook it into my tv then have the vcr record from the tv
or
get a radeon 9700 all in wonder connect streight to my vcr.
Price is not a major issue but would like to keep it under 300$ which the 9700 is $449 right now.
The system I am building will serve manly as a gaming machine, but i would like to be able to preform video out to a vcr as well.
I quess my question is:
What hardware do I need to output to vhs tapes from most of the popular digial video formats.?
and
Is it even worth the trouble, should I just burn vcds and watch on my dvd player?
Thanks guys and gals for the quick response. :)
Amod

If you want to record VCD to VHS, why not simply connect a VCR to your DVD player. Play the VCD and press record on the VCR.
