  1. I have a basic Bell satalite box model 4100 with a S-VHS and analog video RCA output . I would like to use a Samsung computer monitor that accepts a VGA and DVI input.to view the picture (quality is not important) Can this be done using only S-VHS to VGA conversion cable ? or do I need an "electronic black box " to convert these signals. Thanks.

For about $80 you could buy a simple TV that would get a better picture. A used CRT TV would be near free.

Alternate, which I do, is add a tuner/capture card to your computer and run it as a window on your desktop. That way you can record the video you are watching. I also have the box feed a large screen TV which can remain off during most of the day.
