Hi - having finally got my PC and Premiere 6 playing well together I'm ready to start the project which is getting footage of family over from the UK to our in-laws in the US. They are not computer savvy so I want to send it as VCD which they can play on a domestic DVD player. So I have a JVC 767 which I can Firewire into my PC. What project settings should I be using in Premiere to start with? My plan is to then edit the footage, save it as MPEG and use Nero to burn a CD. Does the Terran EZ cleaner make suitable files for this or will I need to use TMPGEnc? If the latter then how should I save my file in Premiere before opening with TMPGEnc.
I'm quite au fait with all the editing processes in P6 - just am baffled by all the format options. In particular the PAL/NTSC deal. As I am in the UK I assume my cam is PAL format. At what stage does the conversion to NTSC take place? In TMPGenc? Anything I should watch out for? Rather baffled by the different frame rates. Also feel free to point me in the direction of good reading material.
Thanks
James
