This may be a dumb question, but I have to ask since I don't know the answer. Over the last few days I have been a DVD Ripping/Burning Machine....does anyone know if that will rip or burn my computer out? Basically what I am saying is, does a computer need a "rest" so to speak, or can I continue to Rip and Burn 24/7 for weeks on end? And if weeks of constant work and no shutdown are by chance "ok", then what about a month straight? lol.... Right now I am going to turn my computer off for a couple of hours, and then back to work it goes....hahahaa.....any help on this will be appreciated..thanks

It is okay. A lot leave it on for hours for S/VCD conversion.
In teh old days, computer used to be on all the time.
Only shut down when they have to. -
With enough cooling the solid state portion of your PC should be fine, even better off running full tilt all the time. Your drives OTOH do get more wear and tear operating 24/7.
drives are one of the more poorly ventilated portion of most computer cases.
So... heat kills, not processing.
