  1. Hello,

I am capturing VHS clips thru ADVC100 and 1394, with DVD workshop. Running Win98se.

Whenever I have a movie longer than 19minute, it slpit into a new file at 19 min 28 sec. So I have many 19min28sec clips after capturing a 2 hours movie.

I have set scene detection ON, but I don't think it has anything to do with it.....it is splitting within a scene.

I understand it is good because the clip's AVI size is much smaller than the 4G limit of Win98 (the clip size is about 2G), but can the 19min setting be changed?

Is there a setting in DVDworkshop to control the splitting?

    Please help.

    Thanks.

    Teddy

  2. Many software video editing/capture programs impose a 2GB filesize limitation for AVI files

  3. Thanks for your reply.

Is there anyway to get around this 2g max?

I have done some joining of clips in VideoStudio 6 which produce resulting AVI clip up to 4G, can I assume that VS6 does not have the 2G limitation? (I don't have VS6 now but if this can help solve the 2G capturing problem, I will replace my DVDws with VS)

    Thank you.

  4. I have just realised you are using workshop, sorry didn't read your post properly

There is no 2GB limit on ulead video studio. When I used to use it on win98 I could transfer 4GB files, which are about 19 mins

I would be amazed to find that there was a 2GB limit on workshop.

Are you sure the file is 19 mins and 2GB, as the DV codec is about 3.6mb/s and at this rate 19mins = ~4GB. Which would explain the problem
