  1. I ask a few friends if it was possible to burn a cd without a dvd burner, and all the answers was no.

I was surfing the web and came apon something called "DVD Copy Pro" http://www.dvdcopypro.com It is a software that allows you to burn a dvd without the a dvd burner, infact that is the first question on there Fao section of the site.
    http://www.dvdcopypro.com/faq.html

It says all you need is a dvd drive (which i see is at an all time low in price) and a cd-r installed.

What i want to know is if this is possible to burn a dvd this way, or if this is just a scam.

Also, if anyone here ever tried this method, please let me know if it worked. Thanks alot
    FYM.

  4. it dose work and you can play them in you stand alone dvd player. its not dvd but it is close if you encode to svcd but most dvds are like 2 hours long and a cd only holds like 35 to 40 minutes so if you don't mind getting up a lot to watch a movie then go for it. i hope you wasn't planning on buying DVD Copy Pro because you can find guides on this site that will tell you how make svcds and it all freeware.

  5. lmao

No way, i would look all over the net until i found a priated version. (sorry is saying that is not allowed) 30-40 minutes? i thought a cd was about 74 minutes but i guess that only applies to music. I will look on this site for alternative methods to dvd copy pro. thanks alot.

If you choose VCD, you can fit near 80 min on a 80 min CDr/w.
If you choose SVCD, you can fit about up to 60 minutes on a 80 min CDr/w with GREAT quality if you use for example dvd2svcd.

  7. well you can put 74 or 80 minutes of video depending on you cd if its a 650 or 700 meg but you would have to make vcd which it like a vhs movie and svcd is more like dvd and thats why you can only put 30 to 40 minutes on a cd

  9. @ GREG

Your right, there is no reason to pay. for all i know they could have been using programs from this site.

It was just an example to see if it can be done.

What the site failed to mention is that you woul djust get a vcd, or svcd.

i thought you were burning a dvd to get a dvd without the dvd burner which i was wrong about.
