  1. i don't know what the proper area is to place this message, but here it goes...

i have a few files with one good audio track, and one audio track that has some 'noise' on it (pops and clicks, source unknown, probably digital errors instead of analogue ones)

i don't want to loose all information of the damaged channel, so i was thinking about the following:

    1. denoise / declick whatever the 2nd channel (suggestions for software and function? cooledit or acoustica comes to mind)

    2. then remix both channels, perhaps adding some dsp effect to add some artifical depth

    any suggestions?

Gold Wave comes to mind. I know it has a function that handles pops and clicks.

  3. I personally use Sonic Foundry Sound forge to handle all of my audio needs. It also has many seperate plug-ins that you can get to do tasks such as the famous Sonic Foundry Noise reduction plugin which I absolutely love. Anyways, the plugin that comes to mind which you would need is the Vinyl Restoration plugin. I've heard some pretty good things about it =)
