    Hi all
My process is DVDDecrypter, DVD2AVI,TMPGEnc then finally Nero 5.5.
My first go was successful but when I played it back on my standalone DVD it stretched the picture to full screen so everything looked skinny. The DVD is set to 4:3 letterbox so 16:9 dvds don't look skinny.

Is it because I changed the A/R to 4:3 instead on leaving it as 16:9?

What are the settings for doing a wide screen movie and full screen movie so it looks normal on my 4:3 TV, and what part of the process do I make the changes in?

Is there a program that fits inbetween TMPG and nero for adding chapters and the like to my SVCDs?
    Thankyou!

  2. If the source DAR = 16:9 (16:9 anamorphic movies as well as essentially all 2.35:1 movies -- which are 16:9 DAR + letterboxing), then select the source as 16:9.

The destination aspect ratio should always be 4:3 for SVCD.

As for making chapters, you will want to use VCDImager. I suggest using VCDEasy as a GUI for the beginner.

I downloaded VCDimager but it said cgywin1.dll file was missing when I tried to run it. A re-download didn't fix it.
    Ideas?

  4. Where did you download it??

I should come with all the necessary DLL files.

Also, if you download VCDEasy, I suggest that you get the "Full Installation".

When you unzip the zip file, make sure you unzip all the files into the same folder.

Furthermore, VCDImager is a command console application which means you will have to use it from the command console.

Thus, my suggestion of using VCDEasy. It is easier for the beginner.
