Hi im encoding a nirvana vid captured at 352x480 mjpeg ntsc and am converting to ntsc cvd the problem is one section where fans are jumping around the only way i can stop it from not showing macro blocks is to encode at 6000kbps cbr this just isnt economical for me at 13 min per 80 min cd. Any one have any advice how i can get these blocks out and would it possibly have anything to do with my interlaced source.Cause it seems when my vid gets really wavy lines is when the video is demanding crazy bits.

Try encodeing with Tmpeg using 2-passVBR. It allows you to set an averge bitrate to control the file size but also a maximum rate to minimize macroblocking in motion scenes. An example,2000 average with 3000 maximum will fit 50 minutes on a CDR.
