  1. Hiya everyone. Big problems here. I've been and bought a Mini DV Camcorder and the shop sold me a Dazzle DV Editor SE Firewire Card to0 be able to put the captures on the PC. The software bundled with it is Dazzle DV-Editor Video studio 4.0. I have plugged it all in correctly as far as I know etc etc. The problem I have is that I capture the video as per instructions and have the "capture Audio" tab checked but no matter what compression codec I use, when I try and play the AVI or MPEG or Video file, I don't get any sound at all and the audio codec is always "Unknown"
It's stressing me out to **** and I just want to bin the whole bloody lot. I know that the firewire card isn't the best on the market but I should be able to do something with it shouldn't I?
Please help as this is really vexxing me. I have loads of codecs installed on my system and do a lot of DVD Backups etc so I'm not a complete fuckwit anymore. Could it be the soundcard or something, or do I need another cable linked from the firewire card to the sound card.
Any suggestions that I could try would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanx in advance.
    Jimmy

  2. Audio is already included in the stream that you're trying to transfer. Sorry but it's been a while since I used VideoStudio. I would recommend that you try other software to transfer the video to your PC. Do a search here on DVIO (haven't used it though) as I've seen a lot of members recommend this. But then again, using a bad cable is another possibility.
Have you tried sending the video back to your camcorder (on a different tape of course)? Check and see if the video sent back to cam gives you sound.
