  1. I've burned some DivX-CDs for my girlfriend and for quite a while everything worked perfektly. But a few weeks ago I installaed the actual Nimo Codec Pack and since then she can't play the movies anymore. First the media player gave an access violation error. I tried some other players withe the same problem. I deinstalled nimo and installed the divx5.02 pro codec instead, but the video still won't run. At least the sound ist playing again, but there is no picture.
    Any Ideas?

    Hi
Do you have divx 3.11 alfa in there as well?

  4. I've tried several DivX-Movies (namely "Fellowship of the Ring" and some "Babylon 5"-episodes.
The Movies could be viewed correctly until I installed Nimo.
DivX3.11 is part of Nimo Codec pack, so I guess it is installed, too.
The problem is just in the Win98-Computer of my girlfriend. On my Win2k-machine everything works perfectly.

  5. You should download something like Gspot (link available in the Tools section of this site) that will identify the AVIs you are trying to play. This will tell you for sure what codec was used for the video. It sounds like you need a different codec installed since you are getting audio but no video. If you have reinstalled DivX 5 and it's still not playing, then it's probably one of the more obscure DivX codecs or perhaps Xvid or OGM.

Let me know what you find,

    Prospero

  6. It seems sometimes that some codecs don't play nice together. (DivX 4 and 5 namely), sometimes I have both working, sometimes, both don't. I had mp3 codec problems at one point too where it would stop encoding at frame 9995. Conflicting codecs is a pain. Good luck.

  7. We are just busy organizing an event, so I won't have time to try it again until the weekend, following the next one.
As far as I can tell there IS a problem with DivX 5. I did a manual search for the codec files and the 5.02 ones are missing.
Strange, it should be included in the Nimo Pack. Perhaps I should deinstall all codecs from the system and start at the beginning. I thought, I had done that, but obviously that was not the case.

    thanks
