I am using a Sony VAIO FX705 laptop. Win XP home, 512Mb, AMD XP1500 CPU, 30Gb HD.
Using DVDDecrypter to rip PAL DVD (Evil Dead 2) and then DVD2AVI 1.76+ to frame-serve.
TMPGEnc-2.58.44.152 Plus EN is giving constant errors:
"At address xxxxxxxx, Read error occured against xxxxxxxx"
Normally get 1-2 minutes into the encoding to standard MPEG1 VCD. Have tried playing with envirornment variables as suggested on forum and have tried turning off visual playback while coding as well as physical testing of HD & RAM for errors.
Also get problems using DVDx & FlaskMpeg as well.
What is going on? Have I got problems with my MPEG2 codec or some internal drivers or something? Is anyone experiencing same with XP? I have tried other DVD's and the same happens.
Could I have a H/W problem? I use my laptop all day, 5 days a week doing lots of big spreadsheet work and don't have any other issues apart from this! The DVD plays OK in WinDVD and so do the VOB's.
Help! Pulling my hair out now!
Jay
