VirtualDub isn't picking up my TV Tuner

K, Newbie here just getting started. I have an AverTV98 capture card (with updated XP drivers I downloaded) thats working fine with its own capture software. Since I don't want Mega AVI files I am trying some converting with suggetsions here and having some success. Using VirtualDub I capture from my Camcorder (Composite video) fine but I get nothing but static when selecting TV tuner as the source. I have the same problem with another program I'm trying too, PowerVCR II. Again the tuner works fine with its own program. Any suggestions would be great.

I signed up just to answer your question or at least try to. I ran into this today myself using VirtualDub (I have an all-in-wonder-128 32mb version) I went file/capture avi, than video/sorc click the tv tuner button after selecting your tv tuner and put in on the correct channel (mine = channel 2) by default it's set to channel 4 (snowy channel because it's hooked up to a cable box that requires channel 2) I dunno about the other program you're using (PowerVCR II) but I assume somewhere in that program you can also change the channel hope this helps. p.s. this website is great, keep up the good work vcdhelp.com this is a great website to learn from.
