  1. i was in need of some help regarding adding subtitles. the guides are great and were easy to follow so my thanks and appreciation to those who created them. alright, i wanted to make a copy of a foreign movie with the subtitles on it. so this is what i did:

    1) used 'smartripper 2.41' to get the vob's
    2) used 'subrip 1.10' to get the srt's
    3) used 'srt to ssa converter' to get the ssa's
    4) then opened 'virtualdub 1.4.10' setup the filter 'subtitler', then finally setup the 'start frame server'. and i save the file "anything.vdr"

5)then i open up 'tmpge 2.58.44.152" so i can encode my mpg movie. however when i try to open "anything.vdr", an error comes up. the error "can not open or unsupported" pops up.

why is this happening. i thought i set everything up good. any help would be great.

  8. tablaboy,

your problem with frameserving from vDub to TMPGenc (& the .vdr file) is quite a common one.

have a look at this thread, and the threads & guides it links to.

Hey tablboy, on step 2, when you finish typing all the letters in with subrip, how do you save it to get the srt?
