    well.....
    2 things:
    --are we supposed to read your mind as far as how long your movie is, how many discs you're planning to use, and what type of file your creating(VCD, SVCD...)
    --have you tried the bitrate calculator?

    To calcualte...

    Min = 1/3 average OR the minimum your DVD player allows
    Avg = target bitrate based on media size and length of movie ( at least several hundred smaller than max )
    Max = Double average OR the max the format allows ( svcd = 2500 )

  4. Cheers snowman. Thats all i wanted a roughf idea. Where can i find out my dvd player bitrate limits. With out the trile and error bit!

    Check the DVD player list and ALL comments for special items like minimum bitrate.

    I ususal use high.

    Motion search precision DEFINATELY makes a huge amount of difference!!!
