  1. Hi,

A couple of years ago I bought Pinnacle Studio DC10+, wich had a Miro capture card and Pinnacle Studio 6 as software. My old camera I used then soon broke down and I never used the Pinnacle product again because of lack of a camera.

Last week I bought a Digital Camera (Canon DV5i) and I wanted to capture the video onto my PC and edit it. So I grabbed the Miro board and put it back into my computer. But this is an analog capture card, but there also was a svideo output on my camera. And just for testing i thought it was OK.

My PC has a AMD XP1800+ processor, 512mb ram and as operating system windows XP. And there was the problem: Studio 6 is not compatible with NT5 operating systems. So I visited the Pinnacle website and came back unhappy... I had to buy an upgrade. But I do not want to use the Pinnacle software anyway because I have Ulead Videostudio 6 wich is fine for the time being.

My question: is it possible to NOT install the Pinnacle software and use Video Studio with the Miro card to capture the video files from my digital camera? Asuming that the drivers to use the card are baked onto the pinnacle software?

Probably your advise will be: Buy a Firewire card... -> so my second question is: wich one? Considering I do not want a very expensive one...

    Hope someone has a solution,

    Thx in advance,

    EQ
