I've been working on a set of 'smart' bitrate calculators for DVD, Mini-DVD, SVCD and DivX that I've posted to my web page. I invite you all to kick the tires and give me your criticisms and suggestions for improvement.

Only the DVD and Mini-DVD flavors are available at present -- once they're stable, reliable and verifiably accurate, the SVCD and DivX calculators will follow:

The calculators were written under Internet Exploiter 5, thus they probably won't work under Netscape or Opera due to differences in the way ECMAscript (JavaScript) is implemented on those platforms. Also, you MUST have cookies enabled in order for the calculators to function. Future versions of the calculators won't be so limited, but one has to start somewhere.
