    Hi all,

first of all, I would like to say that this is a really nice site + forum, i visit it quite often and always found the information i searched for. And i want to apologize for my English, iŽm from Germany, sorry....

And now my problem: I downloaded the latest firmware for my Player AD-L 528 from www.cyberhome-europe.de and extracted and burned it to cd as described in the manual. afterwards, i put the cd in my player, i had to press enter to start the update. The update was started, but when it was ready and I removed the cd, i did not have a picture anymore, i only could hear the sound of the dvd i played. Also, the Cyberhome start-screen wasnŽt there anymore, only a black screen.

What can I do to solve that Problem? Is there a patch or something? Or is it possible to flash an older version of firmware for my player? Where can i get what i need? Can u help me?

I am thankful for any hints you can give, thnx a lot!

If you are using Scart try using using the composite output (red/white/yellow) connection to your TV if possible. Or vice versa if you already use that. I had the same problem, and the upgrade seems to affect the output video setting. The picture is there - you just can't see it. 8) If you have 2 scart sockets on your TV, try one of the others.

I donŽt have any composite places on my TV, but IŽll try to take the other scart-entry.

If that wonŽt work: Do you think, an adapter from composite-out on the DVd to scart on the TV will work? I mean an adapter likes this: http://www.svideo.com/scart2.html ???

Quite possibly, although I think when it happened to me I fixed it by just changing scart inputs, and then altering the menu settings.

If I were you, rather than buying any extra leads or connectors, try using someone elses equipment who perhaps has a composite input on their TV.

I know when it happened to me I thought I had goosed the player. You may find some help on the Cyberhome forum, but |I found the forum to be the most disorganised place I had ever seen on the net. Frankly, I didn't find it helpful, but you may have more luck. 8)

  9. Here is the fix for the firmware update if you get a black screen.

This is probably due to the fact that the firmware has something other than composite video selected.

To check remove any disks from the player

close drawer and ensure player is on

the following procedure you will do blind i.e. you won't see any visible interaction on screen

    Press Setup

    Press down button once

    Press right button once

    Press down button once

    Press down button again

    Press Enter

    Press Up button

    Press Enter

    Press Setup

If that hasn't given you a picture repeat from the top up to three times or until you see a picture
