I don't understand track at once versus disc at once, can someone explain the difference and when I should be using one versus the other..

I believe that in DAO mode, the laser stays on for the entire burn process, while TAO mode, the laser turns off and then back on after each track.
You definitely need to use DAO mode for (S)VCD's but other than that, I'm not sure.what are you askin' me for...

My rule is... unless I plan on adding information to the disk later I always use Disk at Once mode.
