  1. New to this. I have a pal video camera and have captured the file as pal avi. If I burn into svcd as pal because i have a region 2 dvd will I then be able to play my svcd on a region 1 dvd?

  2. VCD's and SVCD's aren't region coded, so you'll have no problem playing the disc.

  3. Thanks.
What about pal and ntsc will the dvd player read them or does it not matter. Will I need to convert to NTSC? Does the mpeg make it international?

  4. Some DVD players will convert from Pal to NTSC internally, others output PAL when playing PAL disks and so require a PAL capable TV. The opposite (NTSC to PAL) is more common and multi standard TV's are VERY common in europe even though manufacturers tend not to advertise the fact.
