hey all, i have a couple of questions concerning my latest project. I am currently building a htpc and would like a nice pc lcd/lcd tvfor it. I currently reside in the states but will be moving back home to Britain next year. Now i don't know exactly whether a lcd tv would work in Britain. The voltage and herz is not a problem as i have looked at several sets with dual capabilities. I will subscribe to a digital company when i get back for my tv so it is a question of the signal coming in that i am not sure about. I would imagine that an lcd without a tuner would be best as my new cable box would take over the role. I just don't know enough about the display factors when it comes to an lcd tv showing ntsc and pal digital signals. It will be runnning through my htpc with a video capture card by the likes of hauppauge in the hope to set my self up with tv viewing at home (am i right in thinking this?) From what i've looked at on the net the 2 digital video standards are atsc in the states and dvb in britain and within this there is interlaced and progressive along with mpeg 2 and mpeg4!!
You see i was assuming that if you could use a pc lcd monitor then surely i could use a lcd hd tv yes no??? I just don't know enough about the refresh rates and the number of lines the monitor can decode/display.....

Any help with in regards to lcd selection, dark picture quality, hdmi support, ghosting, and any new suggestions is greatly welcomed as this is the fifth forum i have asked with no answer yet.
