  1. I was wondering if there was a DVD authoring/burning program that will let me create a DVD from MPEG files, but instead of creating a new menu, let me use one that I already have from an IFO/BUP File.

    Try the ifoedit site.

Seems to have many guides dealing with ifo, vob and mpeg.

  4. I guess I'll basically spell out what I want and hopefully someone will understand and have a solution. Using SmartRipper, I ripped the files from a DVD to my hard drive. Then using DVD2AVI, I separated the audio and video into the appropriate d2v and wav files. Instead of it combining the sequential files automatically, I did them individually. Then I opened them in TMPEGEnc and created DVD quality MPEGS. Then I renamed them to vob. So basically I have all the same vob files that were on the original dvd, just a smaller size. If I try and burn a DVD with nero, using the original IFO/BUP files, it doesn't work b/c obviously the specifications aren't correct. When I create IFO/BUP files with IFOEdit, and burn them to a DVD, It also doesn't work, I'm guessing b/c IFOEdit doesn't support menu's. So is there a program out there that will take my newly created VOB files and create IFO/BUP files that will work, and if menu's are the problem, then it needs to support menu's? Thanks!

  5. wait a minute....."U renamed the mpegs u created in tmpg to .vob" doesnt work like that..sorry

i dont know where to start on this one..lol

first lets start with u ripping and using dvd2avi to get a d2v and wav for each vob.........not needed

u could use smartripper to rip the whole movie straight to a m2v file but since u ripped the vobs lets use the vobs

u should have loaded ALL the vobs into dvd2avi to get 1 d2v file and one audio stream...and i wouldnt demux the audio to a wav file because it will take up too much space always demux the ac3 file compressed audio stream if available

use tmpg or CCE(which i perfer) to transcode the video only after which u need an authoring program such as spruce up, maestro or scenarist to remux the audio and video streams together and author the video to vob format ( if u use rempeg u dont need to use an authoring program just remux with ifoedit)...then u need to use IFOUPDATE and IFOEDIT to clean up the ifo files

theres info/guides on dooms forum on exactly how to do this , what i wrote here is basically a quick explantion
