  1. Just a minor issue, but after using the latest Nero,(& update), to create an mpeg1 standard PAL VCD,(encoded in TMPGenc), I notice there's a slight pause/freeze in the mpeg playback at the start of each chapter of the VCD when I play back the finished VCD in WinDVD.
It only occurs for about a 1/2 a second,& the rest of the playback is fine. The actual mpeg1 file plays without pauses/freezes fine prior to burning it. Is this a standard thing,& nothing to be concerned with, or can it be avoided?

  2. This is a standard thing in VCD. There is almost always a pause between two tracks/mpg files. In Nero you can specify the pause, I assume you set the delay to 0

if you split the mpeg you arent creating chapters at all thats the problem. You are creating tracks. Now to get true chapters (at least as best vcd can do them, entrypoints actually) you will need something other than nero to author with....try vcdimager if you don't have any money...its free (download in tools section) or try the vcdtoolkit from philips (free too) but it is VERY picky and generally a pain in the butt to figure out, but you can make very professional vcds with it. It is the only thing I know that supports the entire vcd specification (including CDDA).

  4. As above...

You will almost always get a pause/gap between tracks on a multitrack VCD. These are not considered "chapters"...

  5. Sorry for the delay in replying & thanking all of you for your kind words of advice. I didn't know there was a difference between "chapters" & tracks, with the whole VCD/DVD situation.
In reply to your post cmacleo, I actually think I used infinite delay on the "intro Screen" in the Nero "Menu display",where as I used a 5sec pause between the other tracks. Is it a preferable situation to have them set to zero delay?

  6. Hi. I've encountered this problem as well but putting the seconds item to zero does not change the vcd from freezing between the files. It's indeed a vcd thing which cannot be changed.
