I have been reading reviews about various TV Tunner card under "Capture Cards" and alot of the posts talk about VirtualDub not working with WDM drivers. I have a Ti4600 video card with VideoIn & VirtualDub is what I am using to capture my videos ( granted the quality of the picture is not the greatest, picture is not sharp, it looks washed out ) and it works.
    The reason for this post:
I am trying to decide on a TV Tunner card so i have been doing some research.
I can not decide which to get: AverTV
    LeadTek WinFast 2000XP
    WinTV FM ( 401 model )

Some people said that Leadtek does not work with VirtualDub, is that still true ( I love that program )

    Any suggestions please?
    Thank you

  2. I am very happy with the Pinnacle PCTV Pro. The 4.02 VFW drivers work fine with Virtual Dub; the new 5.1 drivers are WDM and will not work in Virtual Dub, but do give me better quality captures. iuVCR (demo available) and AmCap both work fine with the WDM drivers.

  3. Both the avertv stereo and the wintv 401 can work just fine with Virtualdub if you use the BTWincap driver. The winTV also has a VFW driver available that will let it work with VirtualDub.

I have both the AverTV Stereo and the WinTV 401 and capture quality is identical. The AverTV can't tune channel2 on my cable system, and the WinTV can. The WinTV also has the remote and the fm tuner, but since you only cap off the line in it wont matter to you.

I don't have any 1st hand knowledge with the LeadTech, but if all you do is cap off the line in you might as well save a few $$ and get the AverTV.
