I just made my first successful copy of a PS2 game using the Sony DRU-500A with RecordNow Max 4.1. My first attempt was using the RecordNow software that came with the burning, didn't even burn for 5 minutes and it had an error. You need to make a global image from another source like a DVD-ROM drive because RecordNow Max 4.1 can only recognize DRU-500A only in the wizard mode. From this mode you cannot make a global image. And I used cheap media too, the DVDPro from meritline. Took about half an hour to burn the 1.75GB game buts its well worth it. So people this burner works for burning PS2 games. Thanks again Sony.

  2. Hey just to let you know there is a new Recordnow Max 4.5 that should have been released sunday oct 20 though i havent seen it on Stompsinc.com. I have a beta 4.5 and it has cleared up all my media/ firmware/ com error issues as well as decreased the initialization time of the disc. Hopefully it will clear things up for you with the wizard, keep your eyes open for the update

i was wondering if that game you copied Duong, was a CD-ROM or DVD-ROM. if you guys can copy DVD-Rom games, please let me know because I know how, but I don't have a DVD writer. Maybe we could swap games or something.

  6. Hey Wetmonkey,

How'd you get the 4.5 beta? I tired to call them and offer to pre-purchase 4.5 so I could d/l the beta but they wouldn't let me. Furthermore they said 4.5 wouldn't be out for about two more weeks.

The games that I burned were DVDs. Hey Wetmonkey is there a site or something that you could tell us where you got the beta version from. I hate working through this wizard. And I got my burner from Best Buy. If you go online I am pretty sure that Circuit City has it in stock. You could also check nearby stores in your area to see if they have it in stock. Best Buy and CompUSA have that feature too. Good luck looking for it.

  9. Hey actually i spoke with a tech as well as email stomp support because of problems i was having with disc recognition after i upgraded my pioneer firmwear. Anyway they emailed the beta to me after i spoke with them and ask me to report any issues or bugs to the, they also sent a seperate email a few days later in responce to my questions i sent to the support email address. This email informed me the files would be up sunday and the upgrade would resolve my issues. I suppose they are waiting on releasing the update untill the retail materials are ready or any other last minute bugs - no clue.

WoooHooo! Express came at like 11:00am this morning.
To BlueSdime, i bought the new (red) Magic 2. It's supposed to be the newest revision of the chip, with all the bug fixes. I was going to go with a USB mod, but then i didn't wanna do swapping. I'd rather just pop the game in like normal and just boot up ya know what i mean?

Anyways, the guy i ordered from was really professional and answered all my questions quick and was quick on delivery. Even better, he has the lowest price of REAL Magic 2's on the net! It was only $75, but i paid another $13 for overnight shipping and an extra $7 for C.O.D. I guess i couldn't wait.
Also if you don't want overnight, you can do free shipping for 3-5 business days. Either way, i just thought the pirce was great and the fact that he did C.O.D's was even better!

If anyone wants the info, then PM me, because i dont wanna advertise.
