  2. It is Double sided (not dual layer). Which means yes you can fit 9.4 gb on one disc> 4.7gb on each side. that means in the middle of the Movie you will have to get up and flip the disc. Basically it is just 2 disks with the tops glued together.

Hm... still, that could be useful for converting large collections of TV shows... three to four episodes per side would mean that a whole season of a one-hour show like "Enterprise" or "Junkyard Wars" could be reduced to four discs, while a season of half-hour sitcoms or cartoons like "Futurama" could fit in two, without losing a lot of bit-rate quality. (Typically, a one-hour show these days reduces to about 45 minutes once you snip the commercials out.) And the price is certainly right, all things considered...

One wonders how you're supposed to label them, though.

  5. this is in response to SOLARFOX statement:

I thought about that after I bought some double sided dvd-r's

    heres what i did

i dont label my audio cds or my dvd-rs but when i burn some stuff for friends i like to label them. and i buy the cdstomper labels

the cdstomper labels (and probably all label brands) contain the cd label + the little center circle label that you suppose to peel off the label sheet and discard once thecd label is finished. what i do is print what ever i want on the little center circle label and use that for a center label for the double sided dvdr's.....one thing u need to do is cut a small circle out of the center of that label to match the hole on the actual CD....that is easy though. goto your local stationary/office or hobby supply store and pick up a small circle paper cutter for a couple of dollars.

this makes perfect labels for the center plastic part of your dvds or even cds
