    So I took a divx, converted it to mpeg2 using TMPGEnc and extracted audio using VirtualDub and burnt using EasyCDCreator Platinum VCD.

    My DVD runs the VCD but when it plays everything is choppy, sound & video. Like 1 second intrevals between stalls.

    What could be causing this??

    Yes, the conversion was done in NTSC.

    For those of you who might have the same problem.
    I rectified the issue by burning using Nero instead of EasyCDCreator.

    System type is wrong in tmpeg,
    You must select supervcd
    Fix by remultiplexing.
