Downloaded a movie and when trying to burn as a VCD in Nero, it asked for a Mpeg2 codec plugin. I downloaded that then tried again to burn as a VCD. It took about two hours to 'encode' then I eventually burned it. When playing it on my stand alone DVD player (or even on the PC) there is no sound at all. Is there any way to 'encode' it or is it useless trying. Thanks.

Administrator, sorry I posted this in the wrong forum earlier, hence the duplication.

  2. Looks like you tried to burn an MPEG-1 VCD movie on an SVCD. Try using the right template.

What sound format does the downloaded movie have ?
Some have AC3 format audio, which sometimes doesn't get recognised by some of the conversion software.
You'll need to demux the audio and video, convert it to a wav or mp2 then either remux it or use tmpgenc to generate a new mpeg stream for burning
