  1. I'm about to purchase a new pc with windows xp, am I likely to run into any problems using TMPG ENC AND VIRTUAL DUB? Any advice would be welcome.

  2. I am running XP on my AMD Athlon 1900+ PC and have had no problems whatsoever with these 2 progs. The faster PC the better though coz it will decrease the time TMPGEnc takes to encode to Mpeg1/2.

  3. Cheers mate,I'm getting an 1800, so how long does it take you to encode say a 2 hour movie, how long for each 1 hour disc so to speak.

  4. It depends on whether you encode to Mpeg1 (VCD) or Mpeg2 (SVCD) and whether you apply filters (if so, how many). When i encode to VCD with default precision search it takes 2 hours for 2 hour movie. To VCD with highest precision search and noise reduction filter it takes 3 hours. To XVCD with VBR 2 Pass it takes 4-6 hours depending on how many filters are used. Haven't encoded to SVCD yet, so can't tell how long would that take.

    Cheers
