    hi all.

i keep trying different methods to convert quicktime .mov files to .avi

i came across a small command line program called mov2avi.exe which converted it in about a second, but only worked on 2 files so far.

All other methods like radtools and ulead videostudio require you to select a video compression, which to me seems like 'recompressing' an allready compressed video file.

i woulda thought an 80mb red dwarf episode could convert to equal size avi, especially as that little dos program did it.

    any ideas?

there are many many types of avi files ... non the less you will have to convert it -- whether its compressed again depends if you pick a lossy compressed avi or an uncompressed avi format or even a lossless avi format ..

quicktime player can export to avi and i think is prob the easy way to do it ... just open the mov file in QT player and pick export -> avi -> custom (and set what kind of avi you want) ...
