  1. I did my first VCD capture/conversion and the mpg turned out
a bit better than the source (a 9 year old video tape).
I split the mpg into two parts to get it to fit on a cd,
I was 5 minutes over. What I would like is a to put a
title, swap disc, and closing credits clips onto the tape.

I did a search on the forums but the method listed didn't work out too well. The *.avi files kept showing up with different frame rate errors (30 v. 29.97).

Is there a program that will let me make "proper" avi from
bitmaps so I can make nice looking title screens??

Well I'm sure you can use Vdub and TMPGEnc to make your AVI's the same type as your movie. In fact you need to use TMPGEnc to make the VCD Mpeg, then its ready for use.

There are lots of tools around to make these AVI's but there is so much to learn before you get results.

So I think you can't beat Animation shop 3 that comes with Paint Shop Pro 7. VERY simple to use and it saves the AVI files in a format that you select from the codec's installed on your system.

Plain frames, or fancy page turns...
