  1. I get a white line through the middle of my picture after capturing with VDub. While capturing all looks good, but when i play back the AVI there is a huge white band throught the middle of the video.

Any Idea on how to correct this???

I am trying to capture from a DVD with an XTASY Everything card.

When you are using Vdub have you tried turning on preview ( not overlay ) to see if you get the same problems?

The you are probaby seeing some sort of MV protection circutry kicking in.

Overlay cannot ( well almost ) be captured so MV does not matter. Preview is showing you what the capture will actually see, so your card thinks you are capturing... MV enabled.

  5. snowmoon,

Is there any way to tell my card not to capture MV enabled??? I am using a VisionTek XTASY Everything.

That must be the problem as i do not have those issue when capturing from my Hi8 camcorder.

Most DVD have intros/previews that are not MV enabled, so fire up vdub and pop in a movie with lots of filler previews. Make sure preview is enabled, watch for when the white line appears. If it appears a minute or two into the movie you have MV. You should also be able to tell by using a commercial VHS tape.
