    Hi gang, quick question.

I did an uncompressed AVI 720x480 @ 29.97 fps and 48KHz/16 bit audio.

I want to encode video to MPEG with 24fps (original movie). How do I sync the audio to match that of the video? Can VirtualDub do this? Many thanks.

  2. Use AviFrat to change video framerate to 23.976. Then extract audio with VDub and downsample/stretch it with WAV editor like CoolEdit or BeSweet so that it matches the length of video. To do that for 29.97->23.976 (24)conversion you need to multiply the length of the audio in seconds by 29.97 and then divide by 23.976 (or 24 if you changed video to 24). This is the length of audio as it should be - let CoolEdit convert. Then simply load both files into TMPGEnc (if that is what you are using) and encode.
