    hello!

    Does creative dxr3 decoder card play SVCD (in file or in disc mode)?

    I have dxr2 (older model) and it plays SVCD in file mode only so i think it's highly likely that the dxr3 plays them aswell since it's a newer model.

    I have a dxr2 card I bought it second hand and didn't realise it didn't support SVCD when I bought it. The problem is not with the card but with the software. A new version of the software could easily add SVCD support. If you run the card under Linux it supports SVCD. However since creative released the DXR3 card with SVCD support they have no intention of updating the software to support SVCD. However there is a workaround that is listed on this site somewhere where you re multiplex the SVCD file in TMPGEnc as a VCD file then burn it as a non-compliant VCD it then plays fine on the DXR2 problems with this are the lack of support for dual soundtracks and subtitles etc.
