    Hi,
I don't know if this is the right place to post this message.

I would like to add a DVD to my Creative Zen Vision and don't know how to do it.
Is there anyone in the list with a previous experience?

    Thanks/Fabio

I don't have one personally but I don't believe they read regular dvd files. The archos players are the only ones that I know of that can do it directly.

Assuming your player can handle mpeg2 video files than here is something you can try assuming you have more than 4 to 8gb (4 for single layer 8 for dual layer movie):

Rip the dvd to your computer into a single vob file without splitting it. Then use vob2mpg and load the mpg into your mp3 player. THAT SHOULD WORK. Like I said I don't have one personally but as long as it will read mpeg2 files you won't have to compress the video just make it an mpg file and it should work.

If it it doesn't do mpeg2 or you don't have a large enough capacity player then you will have to convert the dvd to something like divx and then copy it to your player (or whatever video formats your player says it will play). There are many, many programs for dvd to divx conversion if you can't play straight mpg files. Just search the tools section on the left.

I just got my wife a Creative Zen Vision M yesterday. Used Slysoft CloneDVD Mobile to convert a DVD-5 in about 25 minutes yesterday. It'll read any Mpeg-4 video, so any converter should work and then you just export it from there.

Rip the DVD with DVDFab Decrypter then use AutoGK to convert to Xvid. Using AutoGK hit the advanced settings tab and set the resolution to 640 or lower, use Mp3 CBR and between 7-10 MB per minute of video.

  5. I have the Zen Vision 30GB and these are the two methods I use:

Rip the DVD to the HD
Use VOB2MPEG to put all of the VOB files into a nice easy to use MPEG
Use Super to convert MPEG file to DVIX AVI

    The 2nd method:

    Rip DVD to HD
Use DVDx to convert to DIVX AVI

You can also use DVDx to work straight from some DVDs b ut it's painfully slow.

I prefer the first method but the second method works well when you need a set-it-and-forget-it solution.

My Zen will also play mpeg 1 and 2 files. Resolutions of all file types is up to 640x480, I forget what the bitrates are.

Don't know which ZEN you have but this should get you started.

    I am using:

DVDShrink to HD folder with VIDEO_TS (You just want the vobs)
DGIndex to create the D2V and extract the WAV
AVISynth with a simple script to mux the vid and audio, do a smooth deinterlace, add letterbox for 16:9 IF NEEDED, then Nic's WMEnc to generate the WMV.

The WMV format is 300kbsp CBR for video, and any stereo CBR rate you want.

Results are VERY GOOD! Sync stays with seek, everything is working fine.
