  1. Dear friends ,

I've just bought a Sony DCR-PC115E camera and I'd like to ask your opinion what firewire should I buy in order to capture my DV movies to my PC .

    I have 2 notes on it :
    1. My PC is a 4 years old PC ( Pentium II 350M , 256M RAM , 20G HD with 5400rpm).

2.Since I have already a firewire cable (supplied with the camera) and the Adobe Premiere 6.5 prog , I'm looking only for the card itself and not for a kit (software + cable + firewire card)

I know that my PC configuration is a weak configuration , but hope that I'll be able to capture video from the camera without changing anything on my PC .

Please let me know what are your opinions .

1.What is the best firewire card for DV capturing at the $50-$70 price range ?

2.May I have difficulties in capturing video because the weak hardware configuration of my PC ?

    Tnx in advance !
    Ilan

    iland,

Don't worry yourself w/ soo much grief. Just get ANY. Any will do.
Don't worrry about the IHFO thing (or however its spelled like) most,
if not All cards come compliant. And, the chances that you buy one
that "doesn't", well, I would find it hard to believe. In any case, just
pick up a cheap one, for $39 or was it $19 at CompUSA.

However, if you need additional software, then it may be best to pick
up a deal, those that come w/ software apps ie editors, and capture,
I mean, Firewire software. Firewire is NOT capturing, but transfering

This is probably a slow HD.
Do a disk cleanup and a defrag before you start transfering
    over DV data.

The DV files are huge, so maybe should loook in to faster and
better HD (keep both if you have space and PSU can handle it)
