  1. I have tried to covert a avi that I have downloaded. But when i put in tmpg I get file not supported or avi cant open. I have tried moving the enviromental setting. but I still get the samething. I have tmpg running on winxp pro

    you are most likely missing the proper codec. look here for "nemo codec pack" http://www.vcdhelp.com/tools#codecs

    Also Read the post "asf to mpeg" etc.. in the "newbie conversion" you may be missing the proper avi file reader plugin or it is not properly set.
    There's not much to do but then I can't do much anyway.
