  1. I think I'm set up now for my first capture. What I need to know is this:

When I capture with Virtual Dub and use it to frameserve to TMPGEnc how much HDD space am I looking at? Can I do it on the fly and capture, frameserve and encode all in one step? capture-->frameserver-->encoder

    thanks!!

you won't need any drive space as frameserving eliminates the need for an intermediary (sp?) file. you can't do it all at the same time as far as I know. You have to have an AVI file, then open it and frameserve it. It's slower than just converting the AVI I think.
